Thames Barges by Derek PringBorn in Chelmsford in the 1940’s - Del Pring is now a prominent East Anglian marine artist, painting mainly in oil and acrylic. He first exhibited at the Exhibition of British Art, Ausstellung in 1983 and his painting The cement barge was accepted by the RSMA (Royal Society of Marine Artists) and exhibited in 1988.

Derek Pring was commissioned by the Royal Stationers to paint a set of Christmas scenes for reproduction as Christmas Cards for a member of the Royal family. In the 1990’s he was also commissioned to paint The Brandy Hole and The Ernest & Rose Chapman lifeboat which is now permanently held at the Brandy Hole yacht club in Hullbridge, Essex. Dels paintings can be found in many hotels, boardrooms, public houses and private homes across the UK and are on permanent display at The Gallery in Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, Essex. Derek Pring - East Anglian Marine Artist
Amongst Dels interests are: Thames Sailing Barges, art history, restoration techniques of oil paintings and a love of jazz. He regularly plays string bass and tuba for The Hugh Rainey Band as one of its principal members.
